CCRI Community Events
CCRI's annual Polar Plunge on Giving Hearts Day engages people in our community to freeze for a reason. Donned in costumes, participants take the Polar Plunge to support CCRI and the life enriching services they provide within the community.
Plungers, which include individuals, companies, families and college organizations, are asked to raise a minimum of $75 per person to plunge. For those who have an aversion to cold water but have a warm heart, they can register to be a chicken.
Because of the support of the people willing to jump into icy waters in February so the people we support can do more, our Polar Plunge is one of our craziest fundraisers of the year.
The FM Crusaders Motorcycle Club has once again chosen CCRI's Camp H.E.R.O. (Helping Everyone Remove Obstacles) as the beneficiary of their live and silent auctions at their annual buike show.
The bike show is a huge two-day event that attracts thousands of people. The money from the auction will be used for Camp H.E.R.O. scholarships. These scholarships ensure that people with disabilities on a low fixed income can experience the joys of camp.
The focus of Camp H.E.R.O. is to create opportunities for individual growth, learning and increased independence. Activities are an important part of the learning process, as well as FUN! Camp H.E.R.O. has a supportive environment which fosters social and personal growth. It is a community experience that involves people laughing and engaging with one another. At camp people develop an enhanced self-esteem which carries over into all aspect of our lives. It is an amazing experience.
